A Look Back in Time - Alan Towe 1999-01-05
The Forest of Arden Winter League rounded off the millenium with the semi finals of their Presidents Cup and Consolation Cup.
First the Presidents Cup, in which the Hobs Meadow had a field day. Hobs Meadow Mixes, playing against Cocks and Hens continued their season with a 5-4 victory, while Hobs Meadow, with a similar scoreline accounted for the Harvester to line up, what should be a cracking all Hobs Meadow final.
The Consolation Cup produced a top of the table clash between Silver Wings and Red Arrows. Although the three figure scores were few and far between Arrows chalked the all important 6-3 result to book their ticket for the final.
In the other semi the Stechford Social and Mackadown Social met for the second consecutive week. Once again Mackadown supplied the shocks and yet again walked off with the 5-4 verdict and in the process winning the right to play Red Arrows in the final.
