After three weeks and having played ten fixtures in the Belgrave Social Individual League, Rob Thompson has taken over in pole position with 46 points. Rob had a 2-1 win over Mick Chater, hitting 2x100,140 and 119 finish, a similar victory over his father Lance (4x100,180), plus a straight 3-0 win against Lynn Tuckett (121,116) gave Thompson the number one spot.

Another man in top form was Steve Hine who won all three of his encounters 3-0. Hine hit 4x100 and 3x140 against to beat fellow county player Steve Cain and then had scores of 7x100 and a maximum to beat John Turner, taking him into second in the table just two points behind leader Thompson with two games in hand. In the all ladies clash between Tracy Chater and Emma Owen, Tracy just got the edge to win 2-1.

Six points is now the difference separating the top two teams in the Small Heath Summer League. A 7-2 victory at the Victoria 301 Club by leaders Heartlands Club has taken Heartlands points tally to 24. Victoria 301 Club, with 18 points, were second but have dropped to third place as a result of their defeat and Custard House have taken over the second place following their 5-4 win against Great Western. Custard House also have 18 points, but a better average than Victoria 301 Club.

Ward End Ex Service Club have moved off the bottom rung of the table after a 5-4 home win over Brewer and Baker. Black Horse, who lost 5-4 at the Antelope are now resting at the foot of the table.

The Small Heath Winter League will be holding their AGM at the Custard House, Blake Lane, Bordesley Green on Sunday 9th November at 11.00am.  Bill Morris, secretary of the highly popular Aston League is still on the lookout for teams for his new venture, a new Birmingham Sunday Morning League. Teams would consist of five players, each playing the best of three legs of 501.
