The preliminary round of the Sheldon Shield was on the fixture carfd for the Sheldon and District Winter League and in the all division two clash between Maggies and Lyndon Old Boys it was the latter that got the 6-1 verdict. Division one teams Kingshurst Labour Club and Hunters Moon both progressed into the next round with 5-2 and 6-1 results against their respective division two opponents Shirley Misfits and Digby.
There was one rearranged Premier League fixture played which saw second placed Langley Arrows win a close 5-4 away to bottom of the table Banbury Club with Simon Power ecording a 120finish for the winners.

Game number five in the Harborne and District League brought about no changes to the top five places of the league table with leaders Northfield Conservative Club adding a 6-3 home win over fifth placed Smethwick Cricket Club to their account to keep intact their 100% winning run, however they have now been joined by Copper Fox ‘R’ whose 9-0 whitewash of Avenue Social has put them level on both points and average with Northfield Conservative Club. Third placed Northfield Darts Club are two points behind the top two teams after they won their home tie with the Mill 7-2 which keeps them two points to the good on fourth in the table Copper Fox ‘M’ who won 8-1 at Weoley Castle..

Third in the table Copper Fox have a game in hand on Bournebrook and are only two points behind them with a superior average after their 6-1 win at Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club. Greenlands are fourth, they won 5-2 at home against Stirchley leaving them two points short of Copper Fox as are fifth in the league Bourneville.

The Camp Hill League saw a revitalised Sedgemere Devils team chalk up their first win of the season at home to the Moseley Arms this week winning 5-2 to lift them off the foot of the table and be replaced by Roost Rebels who have an inferior average after going down 5-2 away to second in the league Erdington Nomads. At the other end of the table leaders Wakefield Warriors had a convincing 6-1 win at Clumsy Swan to keep their two points lead on Erdington Nomads who have played one game fewer than the Warriors. Roost Bosh moved one place up the table to third replacing their opponents Cotterills lane EBAHA Club who they beat 4-3, Kevin Smith hitting a maximum for Roost Bosh and Neil Parsonage doing the same for Cotterills.

Highcroft Hotdogs had a narrow 5-4 home win over middle of the table Bishop Vesey in their thirteenth fixture of the season in division one of the Four Oaks and District League to stay four points to the good on their nearest rivals Nomads @ Hollyfields who with a maximum from Dave Jarvis had a 6-3 home win over Heartlands in what was their twelfth fixture. In division two Drakes Drum lead the way with twenty-two points from their twelve games, the latest seeing them win 6-3 at home against Deer’s Leap. Second placed Erdington Arrows lost ground in the title race and fell four points behind the leaders when they lost 5-4 at home to third in the division Rosey Mac’s who are now on the same eighteen points as their opponents but they have played one game more than them.

New Inn 2 with ten points have a lead of four on both Mount Pleasant and Gornal British Legion who both have a game in hand on the leaders.
In league ‘B’ Meadow Lark lost 6-3 at New Inn and drop to third place while their victors take over in pole position with an average lead on Jolly Crispin (second) and Meadow Lark who have both played one fixture fewer than New Inn, all the top three teams are on six points. Jolly Crispin had a 6-3 home win over Cabin.

There were just two rearranged fixtures played in the West Midlands Men’s Super League neither of them involving the top four teams. Both fixtures ended with a 3-2 result with wins for Cottage Spring and Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ who in turn defeated Gate Inn and Landywood.

Lowe was quick to recover as he won his next game against Gavin Smith 6-1 while Wells added a further 4-3 result against Jake Shipley to maintain his unbeaten run and put him level on sixty-four points with Lowe.

A resounding 7-1 win over Chris Manoila sees Simon Mountford stay top of division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League with forty-six points from six games. Reigning champion Scott Baker has won all five of his games and has amassed a total of thirty-eight points, his latest success being a 5-3 win over Simon Pritchard. Third placed Ben Johnson has also only played five games and has thirty-seven points and didn’t play this week.
Reece Cook Lucas continues to head the division two table, his 7-1 win against Kobi Holyhead taking his points tally to fifty-two from six games and gives him a lead of fourteen over his nearest rival, second placed Richard Brown who beat Wayne Barratt 5-3 to give him a slender one point advantage over thbird placed Michael Smith who won 6-2 against Warren Bower.
Olly Garratt holds on to his six points lead at the top of division three after he won 7-1 against John Walsh and second placed Gareth Walsh won by the same 7-1 margin against Becky Lopez. A similar 7-1 win for Jade Wellings over Alex Bryant puts her third in the table with forty-four points.
