Despite scores of 145,140 and 6x100 it was not enough for Robbie Earl to avoid a 2-1 reversal at the hands of Ian McFarlane. Earl was soon to bounce back as he defeated Mark Elkin by a similar margin and as a result continues to hold on to pole position in the Brook Meadow Individual League. With 109 points Earl is six ahead of second placed Carl Winters, who this week had two straight 3-0 wins over Terry Blakemore and Roy Parry, plus a 2-1 success against Ricky Heaven. Reigning champion Mark Birch has dropped to third place just one points behind Winters.
Jason Evams nothced two maximums in his 3-0 win over Keith Kelly and there were further 180’s for John Whitehouse and Gordon Clinton.

In division one of the Harborne 401 Summer League Midland Red’s D.Bourne was in fine form as he recorded scores of 140,125,100, a 120 break, 141 finish plus a nine darts game. P. Brotherton also hit a 180 as the Red’s went on to beat the George 6-3. Smethwick Labour Club were far too strong for Old Mill as they romped to a convincing 8-1 victory. In the battle of the Quinton teams it was Quinton Members Club who got the better of their local rivals Quinton Members Club Flights with a close 5-4 verdict.
In division two Harborne Stores handed out a 9-0 whitewash to Stonehouse. Bartley Green Social Club were not far behind as they defeated Hillyfields 8-1.

On the agenda for the Sheldon and District Winter League was the final of their Punch Bowl and Sheldon Shield. The semis of the Punch Bowl saw premier division champions Saltley Amateur Gardeners take out division one rivals Vaughans with an emphatic 9-0 result, while in the other last four play-off game Fordbridge Social just got the 5-4 edge on Brook Meadow. The final turned out to be a somewhat surprising 5-4 victory for Fordbridge.
The Sheldon Shield semi’s were both more than a little one sided as Shard End RBL Flights beat RAFA 8-1 and then to set up an all Shard End final, Shard ENd Social won 7-2 against Iron Horse. The winners silverware went to Flights as they beat their close rivals 5-4.

In the G.U.L.P. Charity league The Tribe extended their winning sequence to five game when they defeated Sharks 5-2. They now go level on the same ten points as leaders Tigers and only trail on average. At the other end of the table No Hopers remain rooted to the foot of the table after losing 5-2 away to The Lions. Bromford produced the great escape of the week as they were behind all the way against Red Devils, but cam back to snatch a close 4-3 win.

Custard House and Mitre got the new Small Heath season off to a good start with respective 7-2 wins away to Wagon and Horses and Potcheen Still. Victoria 301 Club had a 6-3 win against their local rivals Victoria Flights, while Gunmakers Arms just got the 5-4 verdict over Bromford Bridge Residents Club.

White Lion had their advantage reduced to one point at the top of division one of the Pip Club League when the best they could manage at the Dolphin was a 4-4 draw. Second in the division, Three Horse Shoes won 5-3 at the Globe.
In the second division Hopwas Club hold-on to top spot with a 5-3 home win over Red Lion (Polesworth). However, Tamworth Sports Bar are only two points adrift with a game in hand.
