After their opening day 24-12 defeat at home to reigning champions Yorkshire in the BDO Inter County Championships Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be hoping to get on track with a win in this coming weekend’s fixture away to Cornwall.
Last season Warwickshire played hosts to Cornwall and beat them 22-14 a repeat of that result would be just the tonic they need to get their premier division challenge underway.

West Midlands will be looking to add to their 20-16 win against Staffordshire in division two of the BDO Inter County Championships with a similar result at home to Somerset who are newly promoted from division three.

The Kingstanding Double Top League have completed their season and what a finale it turned out to be with the top three players fighting it out for the title on the last night of the season.
Pat Koyce held on to pole position to claim the title with 4-2 wins over his two nearest rivals Mike McFall and William Naylor to finish with a total of 63 points and also go through the season undefeated with 28 wins and 7 draws in his 35 games. McFall beat Naylor by the same 4-2 margin to clinch the runners up spot with 58 points just one more than Naylor who finished third. Naylor also recorded the most 180’s of the season a total of 14 while Chris Packer had no fewer than five breaks of 160. Chris Turnbull had the highest finish of 158 and the least darts in the 301 section was 7 by Chris Packer and Brendan Lysaght in the 501 section it was 11 darts by William Naylor.

The Royal at Albrighton staged the first of what will become a series of knockouts and the winner of the inaugural competition was Andy Roberts who collected the top prize of £100 after defeating Steve Ritchie in the final, Ritchie receiving £50.
Losing semi finalists were Simon Pritchard and Mark Pardon who each picked up £25.
It is planned for similar knockouts to be staged every three months.

A 3-0 reversal by Brian Lawton followed by a 3-2 defeat against Paul Higgins has seen Mick Bown drop from the number one spot to fourth in the Shirley Red Lion Premier League. Bown with 25 points is now seven short of new leader Paul Higgins who in addition to his win over Bown beat another former table topper Andy Hoy 3-0 and by the same scoreline accounted for Mark Cater before losing by a close 3-2 margin to fifth placed Chris Devlin.
Mick Gorst suffered his first defeat of the season going down 3-0 to Simon Edwards and despite beating Alex Edwards by the same score he then lost 3-1 to Andy Hoy and dropped one place in the table to third on the same 25 points as Bown. Simon Edwards added further 3-0 wins over Chris John and Mark Gwalchmai to his tally to give him 27 points and take him from sixth to second in the table.

The top three teams in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night league all won 6-1 this week so there is very little change in the table, leaders Dewdrop staying just ahead of Old Hop Pole on average, in turn they defeated Hayes Social and Jolly Collier while third placed Vine, who are a massive 14 points behind the top two teams beat Island Inn.

On the fixture card for the South Birmingham League were the finals of their League Cup. There was no surprise in the first of the semi finals as group one champion’s Mackadown Social beat second in group two St John’s Flights 5-2, the second semi was a surprise and saw group two winners Erdington Members Club hand out a similar 5-2 defeat to group one runner’s up Punchbowl.

As the Forest of Arden Summer League draws ever closer to an end the Divisional Cups were on the agenda and in the division one play off Journeys End made it a league and cup double by beating league runners up Riley’s Red Arrows 5-2.
The division two final was a little more of a surprise as Greville Arms, who finished the season in fourth place handed out a 4-3 defeat to the divisional runners up Sheldon Marlborough Flights.

The Brierley Hill Monday Night League title is still a two horse race as leaders Dudley Sports ‘C’ added a 6-3 win away to Liberal Club to their tally to make it 56 points from 31 games and second placed Bridge ‘B’ had an impressive 8-1 success over their visitors bottom of the table Brickmakers Arms to give them 54 points, then comes a gap of 8 points to third in the table Rose and Crown (Brierley Hill) who were also 8-1 winners away to Dog and Lamppost ‘B’.
Fourth in the table High Acres had a 7-2 home win over Dog and Lamppost ‘A’ to put them on the same 46 points as Rose and Crown but they have played 32 games as opposed to the 31 played by Rose and Crown.

With only a handful of games remaining in the Winmau Thursday Night Champions League played at the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Sports Arena the £300 top prize is still up for grabs and could easily go to any one of the top three players. Kevin Harris currently leads the way on 191 points from 36 games with two to play, second in the table Kevin Lane is on 172 and has six to play and not out of the frame Mick O’Neill in third place has 167 points and has five to play. This next couple of week’s fixtures will be the deciding ones on who gets the early Christmas bonus.

The Pip Club League played the next round of their Division One Round Robin League and Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) moved to within two points of leaders Prince of Wales when they beat Wigginton Arms 8-0.

The top three teams in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night league all won 6-1 this week so there is very little change in the table, leaders Dewdrop staying just ahead of Old Hop Pole on average, in turn they defeated Hayes Social and Jolly Collier while third placed Vine, who are a massive 14 points behind the top two teams beat Island Inn.

On the fixture card for the South Birmingham League were the finals of their League Cup. There was no surprise in the first of the semi finals as group one champion’s Mackadown Social beat second in group two St John’s Flights 5-2, the second semi was a surprise and saw group two winners Erdington Members Club hand out a similar 5-2 defeat to group one runner’s up Punchbowl.

As the Forest of Arden Summer League draws ever closer to an end the Divisional Cups were on the agenda and in the division one play off Journeys End made it a league and cup double by beating league runners up Riley’s Red Arrows 5-2.
The division two final was a little more of a surprise as Greville Arms, who finished the season in fourth place handed out a 4-3 defeat to the divisional runners up Sheldon Marlborough Flights.

The Brierley Hill Monday Night League title is still a two horse race as leaders Dudley Sports ‘C’ added a 6-3 win away to Liberal Club to their tally to make it 56 points from 31 games and second placed Bridge ‘B’ had an impressive 8-1 success over their visitors bottom of the table Brickmakers Arms to give them 54 points, then comes a gap of 8 points to third in the table Rose and Crown (Brierley Hill) who were also 8-1 winners away to Dog and Lamppost ‘B’.
Fourth in the table High Acres had a 7-2 home win over Dog and Lamppost ‘A’ to put them on the same 46 points as Rose and Crown but they have played 32 games as opposed to the 31 played by Rose and Crown.

With only a handful of games remaining in the Winmau Thursday Night Champions League played at the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Sports Arena the £300 top prize is still up for grabs and could easily go to any one of the top three players. Kevin Harris currently leads the way on 191 points from 36 games with two to play, second in the table Kevin Lane is on 172 and has six to play and not out of the frame Mick O’Neill in third place has 167 points and has five to play. This next couple of week’s fixtures will be the deciding ones on who gets the early Christmas bonus.

The Pip Club League played the next round of their Division One Round Robin League and Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) moved to within two points of leaders Prince of Wales when they beat Wigginton Arms 8-0.
