Just one result from division one of the Kings Norton League this week which saw Hillyfields with a 5-2 result overtake their hosts and rivals E57 and move into third place level on eight points with second in the table West Heath and having a game in hand.
Rubery RBL consolidated their number one position in the second division with a convincing 6-1 win over Coldstream to keep them two points ahead of Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club, Grant Arms and Weoley Hill, Kings Norton having a bye this week while Grant Arms lost their home tie with Weoeley Hill 4-3.

There were mixed fortunes for leader of the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League Kevin Harris as after a 6-1 win over Mark Bayliss he went down 4-3 to Robert Pierce, however he remains in pole position on 101 points from 19 games. Second in the table Louis Burley played just one fixture his 7-0 success against Martin East took him to 92 points just nine short of Harris with three games in hand. Reigning champion Mick Baker is currently third with 82 points from 16 games his latest encounter saw him beat Craig Capewell 7-0.

The latest fixtures in Group One of the South Birmingham League brought together the top and bottom teams, and as expected leaders and hosts Coleshill Social chalked up a massive 7-1 win to put them two points clear of their nearest rivals The C’s.
In Group Two second placed Crown at Shard End were held to a 4-4 draw away to next to bottom of the table The Raven and now after playing one game more are level on three points with top side Erdington Members Club.
Just one leg of average separates Mackadown Social and The Gate at the top of Group Three, both teams have played just one game, The Gate playing their first fixture beat Toby Jug 6-2, Mackadown had previously won 7-1.

It was Knockout Cup week in the Forest of Arden Summer League and there were no surprises from the quarter finals games as division one leaders Journeys End won 7-0 against division two opponents Highwood Arms, division two leaders Journeys End Flights had a 6-1 win over Highwood Exiles who are next to bottom of the same division and in the all division one encounter between Greville Arrows and Ivy Leaf it was third in the table Ivy Leaf who got the 5-2 verdict.
Crown Arrows versus Highwood KB was a late result.

Highwood made it twenty straight wins in the Shirley and District Monday Night League when they won 7-2 away to their nearest rivals Shirley Red Lion to open up a four point’s gap between the two teams. Reigning champions Crown Jewels were also 7-2 winners in their tie at Highwood Bears to leave them two behind Red Lion and six adrift of Highwood.
With a maximum from Brian Lawton fourth placed Solihull Sports and Social Club beat Sharmans Cross again the scoreline was 7-2, Solihull are eight points off third placed Crown Jewels.

A 25-23 win over The Untouchables has seen 3 Yam Yams and A.Stokie hold on to pole position in the Winmau Centre Monday Night League with a total of 447 points, however its close at the top as only five points separate the top four teams.
What’s The Point have moved up two places to second following their massive 42-6 win over Keep It In The Family and with 446 points are one behind 3 Yam Yams and one ahead of Is It In who had a 38-10 win over Full Montie.
Making up the top four is The Outcasts who again were 38-10 winners in their tie with Where’s My Team to give them 442 points just five shy of the leaders.

A 2-0 win over Barry Steptoe and a 2-1 success against Paul Brown has seen Dave Howlett continue to lead the Premiership Division of the Sheldon Marlborough Cricket Club Singles League with 22 points. Dave Humphries also remains in second place on 18 points despite after beating Adam Plows 2-0 he then lost 2-1 to Mark O’Donnell.
Pete Jones didn’t play this week in the Championship Division and drops to fifth losing his top spot to Martin Cox who although he lost his game against Ray Turner 2-1 takes over the number one position on average from Ken Salsbury and Neal Rughani all three on 16 points.
Nigel Ricketts moved up four places in Division One to top of the table he had in turn 2-1 and 2-0 wins against John Young and Alan Wale to give him a total of 18 points and a lead on average from Alan Wale who in his other fixture beat Ian Genge 2-0.

The Brierley Hill Friday Night League played off their League Cup and taking the crown with a close 5-4 verdict was Netherton Cricket Club who defeated Pensnett Welfare Club in the final. Losing semi finalists were Miners (Wollescote) and Pensnett Liberal Club.
The league will be holding their AGM at Dudley Sports and Social on Sunday 11th August at 11.00am to form the 2016/17 season, old and new teams are invited to attend.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League had their singles finals on the fixture card, both of the semi finals finished with close 2-1 results with wins for S.Tonks and R.Pierce who in turn accounted for D.Simpson and R.Colley. A 6-1 win at Jolly Collier keeps Dewdrop top of the pile in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League and two points ahead of Island Inn and Old Hop Pole. So close is the battle in second place that a 4-3 win by Island Inn away to fourth placed The Vine was not enough for them to hold on to outright second place as Old Hop Pole won 5-2 at Sportsman and now share second place with them, level on points and average.

Mick Gorst’s push for the Shirley Red Lion Premier League title continues as he chalked up a 3-1 win over Anthony Daly and with a maximum then won 3-2 against Steve Thomas to give him 41 points and extend his lead to five points after his nearest rival Mark Gwalchmai had a surprising 3-2 reversal against Julian Harris who is in the bottom half of the table.
Pete Silver takes over third place from Chris Thomas, Silver beating Mick Bown 3-1 before losing 3-2 to Anthony Daly to put him on 35 points. Chris Thomas lost both of his games against Dave Fisher and Tony Daly 3-1 to leave him one point behind Silver.

The Pensnett and Bromley Tuesday Night League singles was won by Robert Pierce who beat John Wills in the final, Rob Powers and Bob Carr both lost in the semis.
John Wills went one better in the doubles as he teamed up with Rob Powers and won the final against Anthony Green and A.Adams. Losing out in the last four were Dean Marshall and Stuart Gough plus J.Williams and M.Cullis.

Little change at the top of the Cradley Tuesday Night League as the top three teams all won. Leaders White Horse with 38 points had a close 5-4 win at home to bottom half Bulls Head while second placed Crown (StationRoad) had a 6-3 win away to Members Club to leave them four behind White Horse, third placed Brickmakers Arms were also 6-3 winners at Roost ‘A’ and are a further two points adrift on 32.

Week five in the Netherton Thursday Night League and Dudley Sports and Social kept up their 100% win record by handing out a first defeat of the season to Bulls Head who drop to fourth level on eight points with second placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club who won their home game with bottom of the table The Widders 6-1 and third placed White Swan who handed their hosts The Crown a 7-0 whitewash.
At the other end of the table it was a first win of the season for Delph Bell ‘B’ who won the local derby with Delph Bell ‘A’ 4-3.

At the halfway point of the season Penn Bowling moved off the foot of the table with a 4-3 win away to Ashmore Inn who are fourth in division one of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, replacing Penn in the bottom spot is Bradmore ‘A’.
In division two Dog and Partridge won 5-2 at home against Lanesfield RBL to stay top of the table on average from Sunbeam who after their 6-1 win at Red Lion are now only one leg of average behind the leaders and just another two legs behind Sunbeam is Pavilion who were also 6-1 winners against Bull, all of the top three teams are on 20 points.

Cleveland Arms gained an impressive and vital win in their quest for honours in the Tettenhall Wednesday Night League when they beat Whitmore Reans WMC 4-3 to replace them at the top of the table on 36 points, Whitmore are on 34 points with a game in hand.
Riley’s ‘A’ and Riley’s ‘B’ swapped places in the table as the ‘A’ side lost 6-1 to ECC ‘A’ and drop to fourth and the ‘B’ won 6-1 against Otter and Vixen to move into third.
In the league’s Knockout Cup semi finals Riley’s ‘B’ beat Otter and Vixen 4-1 and joining them in the final will be Moreton who had a bye.
The Consolation Cup semis saw Whitemore Reans WMC beat ECC ‘B’ 1 and Brewood British Legion win 4-3 against Claregate.

The Tamworth League staged their Charity Cup finals and in the semis Fox and Dogs accounted for Progressive Club with a straight 4-0 win, Prince of Wales ‘B’ won by the same margin against Wigginton Arms ‘B’. The final went the full seven legs distance with Fox and Dogs the 4-3 winners.
