Darts News: Quentin is Master of The Ox
The knockouts, which are played over the best of three legs, saw Quentin Mcmaster take the first leg in the final with a 116 finish for 18 darts. Huddersfields Carl Baxter then closed on 106 for 18 to level the score. The third and decisive leg was a very nervy one with both players missing doubles before Mcmaster won in 24. The semi-finals had Mcmaster defeating Staurt Limbert 2-1 whilst Baxter overcame Pip Hair by the same margin.
Fast legs from the earlier rounds came from Limbert 16 and 21, Hair and Russ King 18, Dave Kerr 19, Baxter 20 and Daz Blake 21 whilst 180^s were scored by Craig Wedge (2), Dave Kerr (2) and Nick Harteveld.
Mcmaster now joins Steve Wade, Colin Hendry and Steve Rice along with the eight professional players attending the Grand Finals are Stephen Bunting, Darryl Fitton, James Wilson, Tony O^shea, Gary Robson, Martin Atkins, Robbie Green and Glen Durrant who will be partnering the knockout winners at Huntington WMC on Wednesday 9th October 2013. Entry to the Grand Finals is by ticket only avaliable from Neil Hart (07921128063) or you can purchase them at any of the YDP events on the run up to the finals.
The last four qualifying knockouts, all being played on Wednesday nights are at The Green Tree, Beckfield Lane on 31st July, Severus WMC, Milner Street on 14th August, The Punch Bowl Lowther Street on 28th August and The Ainsty Boroughbridge Road on 4th September.
