Former European Champion Simon Whitlock Sees an Early Exit On His World Seniors Darts Debut.

The fourth edition of the World Seniors Darts Championship kicked off with a bang, serving up high-intensity matchups at the Circus Tavern

The day started with a highly anticipated clash between John Part and Jim McEwan. Despite being the underdog, Part showed why he's a three-time World Champion, overpowering McEwan in an exciting 3-2 victory.

Tony O’Shea marked his return to the tournament with a commanding 3-1 win over Lisa Ashton. After missing last year due to injury, O’Shea capitalised on the opportunity, setting a strong tone for his campaign.

Unfortunately, Whitlock's World Seniors debut ended in disappointment as he suffered a 3-1 defeat to Paul Hogan in the first round. The former European Champion struggled to find his rhythm, while Hogan took advantage of key moments to secure a decisive victory and send The Wizard packing early.

There was heartbreak for Kevin Edwards in his match against Michael Huntley. Edwards, having fought hard and led 2-1, missed five match darts to secure the win. Huntley seized the opportunity, forcing a deciding set and eventually winning 3-2. The win was a sweet moment for Huntley, who will now face Leonard Gates in the next round, while Edwards will be left to rue what could have been.

As the opening day concluded, all eyes turned to the next batch of games, with plenty more drama expected in the coming days. The stage is set, and the competitors are primed for what promises to be an unforgettable tournament.
