A Look Back In Time 21.06.2006
There were only a handful of games played in the Brook Meadow Individual League this week, possibly a football match being played somewhere, nevertheless league leader Robbie Earl managed to play off his game in hand and a vital 2-1 result over third in the table Jason Evans has given him a five points breathing space in pole position. Now on 119 points Robbie has the destiny of league title in his own hands and must now be firm favourite to take the title off second placed Mark Birch. However, Earl did not have it all his own way in the tussle with Evans, who produced a 130 outshot plus scores of 174,140 and 2x125 to Earl’s 2x140 and 2x100.
Mark Elkin and John Whitehouse both hit maximums this week, but the similarity did not end there as both of them also finished on the wrong side of a 2-1 verdict against respective opponents Jason Evans and Jay Murray.

In division one of the Harborne and District 401 Summer League Midland Red continue to lead the way. A 6-3 home win over Quinton Members Club maintaining their 100% record. 6-3 was also the margin by which Bartley Green F.C. beat their rivals Quinton Members Club Flights. R.Waldron was in a fine scoring mood for his side Old Mill as he chalked up a 160 break together with six scores of a ton or more, unfortunately it was not enough for his team to avoid a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the George, who had the home advantage.
Bartley Green were also in form in division two as the Social Club had a good 5-4 success at the Quinborne. T.Hamilton had a thirteen darts leg for Raven, plus scores of 2x140,121,100 and a 120 break in a 5-4 victory against Stonehouse.

Mitre’s challenge for title honours were done no harm at all this week as in their home fixture with Wagon and Horses they handed out a 9-0 whitewash. Victoria 301 Club also made it two wins in as many games with a close 5-4 victory at the Custard House to remain level on points with Mitre, but now trail the leaders by five legs of average.
Bromford Bridge Members Club were also big winners as they accounted for Bromford Residents Club with an 8-1 scoreline. Not far behind were Victoria Flights who won 7-2 at home to close rivals the Victoria.

There was a top of table clash in the Small Heath League when Tigers and Tribe squared up to each other on the Tigers board. The result could not have been closer as the points were decided on the very last leg of the match, the 4-3 verdict going in favour of the Tigers who are now top of the table and Tribe drop into third place behind Barmy Army who beat Sharks 6-1.
