It’s Wayne's World Championship

Wayne Warren admitted this could be his “last chance” after becoming the oldest BDO World darts Champion ever. The Welsh wonder beat fellow countryman Jim Williams 7-4 in a tense final at the O2 Indigo in London last night. Warren is the oldest champ at 57 and it also meant a unique double for designer Lee Huxtable from Red Dragon Darts who also produced the arrows for PDC World Champ Peter Wright. He said: “This is only a dream to have it as reality I swear to God. I slept a little bit last night, not much! “I really tried my hardest tonight and all week. Jim and I are great mates and he will be world champion multiple times. Let me tell you that now. “This might be my last chance but all I told Jim is that I wanted to match him early doors and go from there. “Lee Huxtable at Red Dragon did a great job for me and also did the darts for Peter Wright. get on him boy! “I’ve got my partner Nicola, my boy Leo, son Steven, daughter Lisa and my two grandsons here. It’s been amazing.” Warren recovered from going 2-0 down to Williams but once he got in front at 5-4, always looked in control of the clash of the best pals. Williams said: “It’s nice to be part of it, but I’m gutted. But I couldn’t wish for a nicer guy to win it. If it wasn’t going to be me I’m glad it’s Wayne. “I had a little spell at the end when I lost a bit of focus and you can’t do that against Wayne, he’s been around a long time. “The better guy won on the day he was relentless with his scoring, fair play to him.” By Phil Lanning (@lannomedia) [caption id="attachment_38448" align="alignnone" width="833"] Wayne Warren becomes the fourth Welshman to lift the Men's BDO World Championship Trophy[/caption]
