Roes Relishing Champions Week Challenge
Former WDF Boys World Champion Bradly Roes will be amongst the competing players in Champions Week for Series 7 at the MODUS Super Series, qualifying as the Week 3 winner to put himself in with a chance of winning £20,000 on top of the £5,000 he already won.
Bradly defeated former Senior World Masters Champion David Cameron 4-2 to secure his return to the Live Lounge, having finalised his position in Finals Night because of finishing top of Group A earlier that week.
“Finally after two times before, I lost the Final, but I won on my third attempt so I’m really happy about that. I feel comfortable on that stage, I really like the setup of the venue as it’s all quiet with the cameras. I like playing in front of the cameras and when I’m there I play with nice guys, it’s important as a darts player to just have fun.”
Bradly sat down and spoke with Red Dragon ahead of his maiden appearance in a MODUS Super Series Champions Week and is looking forward to the challenge ahead in Portsmouth.
“It’s a hard field in this series because you have Neil Duff, Beau Greaves, Reece Robinson, Jimmy van Schie and other players too. I know I can play otherwise I wouldn’t have qualified for Champions Week.”
“My main goal for Champions Week is to hopefully make Finals Night and after that we will see what happens. For my first time I want to enjoy it and if I don’t make Finals Night then I don’t make it. It’s all about experience along with an opportunity to play at a new level and I’m really grateful for that.”
Bradly will be one of 3 Lakeside World Champions appearing in Champions Week with three of the four WDF World Champions in 2022 all set to feature later this month.
The MODUS Super Series continues to have strong links via the Amateur Darts Circuit both in the UK as well as in Europe, with players such as Jimmy van Schie and Gilbert van der Meijden impressing at the Live Lounge via qualifying through the ADC Europe route.
“I think it’s good for amateur players to get a chance to play in front of cameras because it’s not actually normal in darts. You have the Riley’s qualifiers for the UK Open which is also for the amateur players and they get a chance to play at a big TV Major.”
“I think it’s great for the ADC and MODUS that they work together to give many amateur players the chance to play in front of a camera.”
Bradly will return to the Live Lounge in Portsmouth on the week starting the 20th of May, as the 2022 WDF Boys World Champion and 11 other players compete for the Series 7 Champions Week crown where there will be a new winner.
