Article: THE VIKING BACK TO WINNING WAYS.

THE VIKING BACK TO WINNING WAYS.

Winmau star and former World Champion, Andy ^The Viking^ Fordham scooped the pair’s championship with Dutchman Rico Dera at the Hemeco Open.

After a few years of sailing through stormy seas, this welcome return to form was a real boost for Andy - who has battled numerous health problems and lost an incredible 15 stones in weight. Andy was delighted to be back on the winner^s podium, saying: ^It has been a tough few years, not just with my health but also as the weight loss has affected my throw - however I will keep battling on and it^s nice to be playing some decent darts again^.

With a rare break in the PDC calendar ^^The Viking^ was joined in Holland by a number of fellow PDC players including: Matt Clark, Vincent van der Voort and Phil Taylor. However, it was the massively popular Fordham who took the headlines, no doubt carried by the passionate Dutch crowd’s hysterical support. After a period in the darting wilderness, Andy added. ^It^s great to be back to winning ways, and really enjoyed the buzz of being back on stage in a final. Hopefully I can keep up my work rate and with my health ok it could be the start of bigger and better things for me,^
