Triple Ashton Trouble in PDC Qualifiers

The Ashton’s will make family history with all 3 competing in the PDC World Championships Women’s qualifiers. Current BDO Lakeside World Champion Lisa along with her daughters Danielle and Lindsey will take part in the UK & Ireland qualifier on Sunday November 25th, at the Arena MK. The PDC announced the ground-breaking news that they would offer 2 Women’s qualification spots as part of their expansion of the 2018/2019 William Hill World Championships, earlier in the year. They will now hold the UK & Ireland Qualifier in addition to the Rest of the World Qualifier, hosted at the Maritim Hotel, Dusseldorf on November 17th. Each qualifier will be played down to one winner, who will then take to the Alexandra Palace stage in the preliminary round of the 2018/19 William Hill Word Darts Championships in December. Lisa has previously played on the PDC Challenge Tour and is relishing the opportunity to represent Women’s Darts on the World stage: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to help boost the Ladies game” said Lisa. “I can’t wait for the 25th November to arrive, and to be playing in the qualifiers with my two daughters will be great, I just hope one of them doesn’t beat me!” Ashton will also be available to defend her BDO Ladies Lakeside World Championship title after the BDO dropped historic restrictions on PDC players playing BDO events. “The BDO have given their blessing for all the Ladies to take part in these qualifiers and we are determined to take this opportunity to raise the profile of the Ladies game” stated the four-time Ladies World Champion. “The experience of taking part at Ally Pally would certainly put me in fantastic position to pick up a fifth title at Lakeside in January.” Full information regarding the Women’s qualifiers is available by clicking here.
