Winmau World Masters Preliminary Rounds Kick Off Today!
The 2025 Winmau World Masters Preliminary Rounds are officially underway today at Arena MK in Milton Keynes! A total of 129 players are battling it out for one of the eight coveted spots in the main event, which kicks off on Thursday.
With the top 24 players from the PDC Order of Merit already securing their places in the televised stage, the Preliminary Rounds provide an opportunity for remaining Tour Card Holders, players from the PDC’s secondary and affiliate tours, and four representatives from the JDC circuit to stake their claim in the prestigious tournament.
The competition structure sees 32 players—ranked 25-56 on the PDC Order of Merit—seeded straight into the Last 64. They will be joined by 32 Group Winners emerging from the round-robin Group Stage, where another 32 players (ranked 57-88) serve as group seeds, with the rest of the field drawn at random.
Matches in the Preliminary Rounds will be played in a tense format: best of three sets, with each set contested over the best of three legs.
Fans around the world can follow the action live, with coverage from two boards streaming on PDCTV. Play begins at 12:00pm GMT, and the all-important draw will be conducted e this morning at 11:00am GMT. Live scoring is also available via DartConnect, so you don’t miss a moment of the drama.
Raymond van Barneveld will not be competing in today’s Preliminary Rounds due to illness.
