Wolfie gets his teeth stuck in to Eric record
Martin Adams continues his impressive Lakeside record and is on course to a 12th win in a row after thrashing Gary Stone 4-0 to progress into the last 8 of the BDO championship.
Adams who has an eye on matching Eric Bristow’s three-in-a-row championships record was in an unforgiving mood as bossed his way through the first set, breaking Stones’ throw in the third leg, and then holding his own in the fourth, to win the first set.
Stone hit a lovely 180 in the opening leg of the second set, but this wasn’t a signal of things to come as Adams matched it, and then finished on 85 in the second. Adams then hit another 180 in the third leg to take the third leg. Stone then won the fourth to take the set into a deciding fifth set, where Wolfie hit his third 180 of the set to go 2-0.
Stone again pushed Adams all the way to a deciding fifth leg in the third set, but Wolfieshowed his experience and calmness under pressure to finish with a double 16 to take the set and go an ominous 3-0 up.
The fourth saw Stone, who was left pondering what might have been, miss double tops for a 110 finish, but Adams again Adams showed his experience by finishing a nervy double 10.
