World Champions at the Winmau British Classic, Kettering, UK
World Champions Ted Hankey, Martin Adams and Trina Gulliver will be amongst hundreds of darts players fighting for the Winmau British Classic Championship titles at the Arena Sports Centre, Kettering this Saturday, July 23rd.
The Winmau Classic is a vital event in the BDO calendar, as it carries priceless ranking points.
There is a £3,000 prize for the 2011 Men’s Singles Champion, and the Winmau Classic returns to Kettering following a move to Braintree in 2010.
To complete a weekend of hugely competitive darts, the Great Britain finals of the World British Teenage Championships and the BDO British Inter-County Youth KO Cup will both be played in the same venue on Sunday. “Kettering is a fantastic venue which offers us lots of space all on one level, and a variety of facilities to accommodate the rising numbers of players and fans for this great weekend of BDO darts”, says Olly Croft of the BDO.
The 2011 Winmau BDO British Classic men’s singles title will be contested by a host of top BDO players including, Darryl Fitton, Tony O^Shea, Scott Waites and current World ranked number 1, Dean Winstanley.
The women’s singles line-up is equally mouth-watering, with 9 times Lakeside World Champion, Trina Gulliver, and current World ranked number 1, Deta Hedman, fighting for the crown to collect a cheque for £500.
